This year’s theme for Sitges carnaval was music. The carnaval was highlighting artists like “The Beatles”, Madonna, Abba (just to name a few) for their floats and their shows, so I was asked to do a mini exhibition at Albert & John’s men’s clothing shop.
Audrey, Doris and “Gidget” smiling at the passers by from the shop’s window…
Days are passing by a little too quickly for my liking but as they say time flies when you’re having fun. I have been ill for the past two weeks, and quite busy and yes having a lot of fun too. My latest mini exhibit is now in a new bar (just opened up in my town) called KVA Sitges -which stands for Catalunya’s famous champagne like drink”cava”. The bar is quite small but has a fantastic chilled out ambiance which is what attracted me in the first place, plus the owners support the arts which is just an added bonus. If you’re ever in Sitges be sure to visit this place which also features live music on the weekends.
hi everyone! I’ve been away for some time. Been busy studying, researching, painting, and the rest. Just when I thought that nothing was happening… BOOM! It’s all starting to happen! So much good so much positivity that I just wanted to send you all the good vibes! Most importantly today I sold one of my paintings “la hermosa de San Sebastian”, I am over joyed! Nothing more rewarding than someone loving my work, makes me want to paint more and just spread the love!
I love the pin ups of the 50’s – and I love creating beautiful images of women. I decided to do a series of modern pin ups, using simple lines and curves to give them a feel of elegance and classy sex appeal, also I was inspired by some of the gorgeous ladies in the 007 Bond movies, so here’s a tribute to the sexy elegant pin up girls!
This painting is not for everyone I admit, but for those who can get the humour being conveyed. This Saint is very popular in Catalunya even though most people don’t give a hoot about being religious or Catholicsm. I guess I am one of them. I am not religious but I am spiritual. I wanted to be a little controversial I guess, but not offensive. However the good news is this painting is now sold, so at least one person got the humour and loved it enough to buy it! 🙂
I have been working on this painting for some time now. It would have been finished by now but I keep changing my mind and keep changing it because I am not satisfied, however I am learning a lot in the process, and that in itself is worth something to me. So I am not going to give up, and I am going to keep on painting!
I live in a small town and there’s only so many times one can walk around without seeing the same thing over and over again, I decided one late afternoon to re-discover the paradise town called Sitges and take a closer look so I started to chase shadows (and flowers) and here is what I discovered…
