After looking for the perfect location and painting almost non-stop, finally found a great spot to exhibit. A super busy cafe with a great wall, where the artist is free to do what he or she wants: put nails in and this makes life easier because most places want to use fishers’ line and that I find is quite difficult to hang pictures with. I am also proud to say that most of the work that has gone up is new, and I have already sold a few pieces! YAY, yay and YAY! S
Catalina cafe is one of my favourite joints in Barcelona and not because Rafa the owner has been amazing enough to let me exhibit in his cafe twice, but also because Catalina is an excellent spot to take refuge from tourists who constantly crowd the streets of el Born. Those who get sidetracked and stumble upon this gem are quite lucky – with great service, damn good food, a cool vibe and the perfect place to see some awesome local art !
I just could not get enough of painting Norma Jean! I still have to paint three more images from this photo shoot to complete the “Marylin at the beach” series that I am trying to work on.
This one is #2 of the series, it’s painted with acrylics and it is varnished on recycled board ( I think it used to be a kitchen cupboard shelf). Size: 30 x 45 cms. The sides are painted so this piece can be displayed unframed. Would go perfect in your beach house, your loft, your bedroom, hallway, or wherever your heart desires 🙂
The beautiful immortal Marilyn Monroe.
