“Gracia” – giving thanks

hi everyone! I’ve been away for some time. Been busy studying, researching, painting, and the rest. Just when I thought that nothing was happening… BOOM! It’s all starting to happen! So much good so much positivity that I just wanted to send you all the good vibes! Most importantly today I sold one of my paintings “la hermosa de San Sebastian”, I am over joyed! Nothing more rewarding than someone loving my work, makes me want to paint more and just spread the love!

New exhibition @ La Bascula

Another exhibit in el Borne, BCN!¬†La Bascula is one of the coolest restaurants I have ever been to, although I am a carnivore this vegetarian rest. really knows how to do it up. Awesome food, deserts and my fave the decor -mostly recycled stuff such as doors being used as tables. Whole bunch of antiques- books, other peoples art and just random cool stuff. Exhausted but getting there! A “Woo-hoo” is definitely in order!

When you’re buying art please consider this:

This was tweeted by an artist named Kerry Davis…

“When buying from an artist /maker, you’re buying more than just an object/painting. You are buying hundreds of hours of failure and experimentation. You are buying days, weeks and months of frustration and moments of pure joy. You aren’t just buying a thing. You’re buying a piece of heart, part of a soul, a moment of someone’s life. Most importantly, you’re buying the artist more time to do something they are passionate about.”

pin up girls have more fun!

I love the pin ups of the 50’s – and I love creating beautiful images of women. I decided to do a series of modern pin ups, using simple lines and curves to give them a feel of elegance and classy sex appeal, also I was inspired by some of the gorgeous ladies in the 007 Bond movies, so here’s a tribute to the sexy elegant pin up girls!¬†Image

Typical Catalan Saint

Typical Catalan Saint

This painting is not for everyone I admit, but for those who can get the humour being conveyed. This Saint is very popular in Catalunya even though most people don’t give a hoot about being religious or Catholicsm. I guess I am one of them. I am not religious but I am spiritual. I wanted to be a little controversial I guess, but not offensive. However the good news is this painting is now sold, so at least one person got the humour and loved it enough to buy it! ūüôā

New commissioned work

I have been working on this painting for some time now. It would have been finished by now but I keep changing my mind and keep changing it because I am not satisfied, however I am learning a lot in the process, and that in itself is worth something to me. So I am not going to give up, and I am going to keep on painting! Image

Beatlemania in Spain!

These were some of the first paintings I painted when I first arrived in Spain. Culture shocked, in awe , trying to adjust to the Spanish way of life. Every Saturday I would paint outside in the backyard to avoid feeling over-whelmed. I was absolutely in heaven!
